D.j. (clipped), 162 pp., illus., index. Reprint of 1908 first ed. Introd. by Bell Irvin Wiley. Excellent Texas Civil War narrative. Fletcher enlisted in the 5th Texas Cavalry at Harrisonburg in 1861, fought at Seven Pines, Second Manassas, Fredericksburg, & Chickamauga, where he received his second wound. Transferred to the 8th Texas Cavalry, Terry's Rangers, in 1864 & finished the war there.

N.Y. Dutton 1995 1st. Of This Ed. Cloth & Boards Fine Fine 
D.j., 223 pp., illus., index. One of the best personal Civil War narratives by a member of Hood's Texas Brigade. Fletcher enlisted in the 5th Texas Cavalry in 1861 & later transferred to the 8th Texas Cavalry in 1864. He was wounded several times & escaped from a moving prison train. The original 1908 edition was largely destroyed by fire; this edition holds true to the original edition.
