3 Paddock, Capt. B.B. HISTORY OF TEXAS: Fort Worth and the Texas Northwest Edition
Chicago Lewis Pub. Co. 1922 1st. Cloth Good
Four volumes, rebound in blue cloth with marbled endpapers: Vols. I & II-886 pp., Vol. III & IV-752 pp., photos. Vols. I, II, & III in very nice condition. Vol. IV-all pages are water damaged with the most damage on the first and last few pages, dampstains on top of pages 699 to the end, & the lower front corner on pages 733 to the end have been chewed by insects. Even with this water damage the text is easily readable and all portraits are in decent shape. The first volume & a half is devoted to general Texas history including the Texas Revolution & the Civil War. Midway thru vol. II the focus shifts to the nothwest & Ft. Worth areas, with brief county histories, indian raids, backgrounds of important pioneers, early Texans, etc. The last two volumes are biographies & photos of important men at the time including Charles H. Fee of Cisco whose name is in each volume & who once owned the books. This set is seldom offered & is somewhat rare.
