Amarillo Russell & Cockrell 1929 1st. Revised Ed. Pict. Wrs. Very Good 
Stiff decorated paper covers, 96 pp., portraits. Extended covers very chipped on edges. Originally pub. in 1908, the first is very rare. This edition was written by Frank McCarty, who substantially rewrote the text and added additional chapters. Elkins, a Texas Ranger & first sheriff of Coleman Cty., recounts his ranger days on the Northwest Texas frontier in 1860-80. Gives his first-hand description of the recapture of Cynthia Ann Parker. Tate, Indians of Texas: 2366.
