RARE work on a Texas plainsman, scout, buffalo hunter, & pioneer. A Narrative...with an Account of the Fight Between Indians and Buffalo Hunters at Adobe Walls, and the Desperate Engagement at Buffalo Wallow, for which Congress voted the Medal of Honor to the Survivors.

Dallas P.L. Turner Co. 1927 Revised Ed. Cloth Very Good 
Green cloth (some speckling on spine & front edge), 251 pp., photos. No d.j. Front hinge cracking. Written by his wife, an excellent Texas book. Dixon was in the Battle of Adobe Walls in 1874 where the buffalo hunters fought a large group of Cheyenne, Arapahoe, Commanche & Kiowa. Later scouted for Gen. Miles. Congess later awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor to the survivors of Adobe Walls.
