Green cloth, 196 pp. (top edge gilt), frontis. of Black Hawk, map, index. Gilt lettering & decoration on front cover. A very readable autobiography of Black Hawk, original copyright 1834. It includes an account of the cause and general history of the Black Hawk War. An early volume in the Lakeside Classics series. Except for minor wear at spine ends & a couple of spots, a fine copy with no marks.
