Cincinatti Chase & Hall 1875 1st. Cloth Near Fine No D.j. Issued 
Brown cloth w/gilt lettering, 214 pp. Mylar. Rankin was a Presbyterian missionary & teacher. In 1847 she came to Texas & in 1854 opened the Rio Grande Female Institute in Brownsville. During the Civil War she was forced to leave Texas & taught free blacks in New Orleans. Virually an autobiography as it begins with her work in Kentucky, includes Texas and stints in Mexico as well.
