The Third Texas Cavalry was very active in the Western campaigns. Barron recalls the soldiers' lives in camp and in the field. Nevins, Vol. 1, pp.54-"Even though based for the most part on memory, and occasionally drifting off on dramatic tangents, this narrative is a standard source for Texas in the Civil War." A very nice copy.
